Sadly, there was near disaster in yesterday's office olympics which I hosted in an attempt to keep myself entertained at the expense of the dwindling staff here in my department.
The post-it note wedding dress was sort of a flop, as the glue on said notes apparently wasn't strong enough to stay stuck to Krystle's moe-hair sweater and polyester skirt.
Stapler towers wern't as much fun as I thought they would be, and we quickly abandoned that event to move on to office chair races, to which I laid out a course through the labyrinth of cubicles on our floor. there were three teams, two office sluts to a team. It started out great, but on the third lap, April (who was being pushed in her chair by Marcy) didn't quite make a sharp turn near the copy room, clipped a cubical wall and went crashing to the floor. Needless to say this all got back to HR on the third floor, and our fun was brought to an end.
I left shortly after that as to avoid being pointed out as the coordinator of these Roman-styled games, hoping that my office slut/gladiators would be able to handle the rest of the day without my presence.
I went out last night to the bar, had a lovely martini and relaxed among my people as they hooted and enjoyed Queer as Folk re-runs played overhead on the projection screen above the bar. Nothing like alcohol and a little soft core porn to relieve the stress of the day.
Today shouldn't be anything special at all. There again is nothing to do today at work, and I'm happy about that because I really don't feel the desire to DO any work today. So I will sit here and explore the inter-net with the door closed and locked. At all costs.... avoid the HR department!
